I started Unrecompensed as a way to share my photos with anyone who may find a use for them.
As a webmaster, I know how hard it can be to find the perfect image – especially without having a subscription to a stock photo site. Since I enjoy photography, I decided to create a site where I upload my best photos and give them away for free. I want to do what I can to help fellow webmasters and artists find that perfect image.
In case you haven’t noticed, most of my images look a bit unrealistic or extreme. I don’t want this site to just be another little free image repository with typical images that don’t stand out. I want to provide a unique perspective with my images. They should be striking and jump out to viewers as caricatures of real life.
All of the images on this site have a CC0 license and can be used for personal and commercial projects, whether online or offline. You can read through my short terms of use page for more information.
Why Unrecompensed?
“Unrecompensed” simply means “not paid or compensated for one’s time or work.” It’s a loose synonym for “free” and “voluntary”. I think it sounds cool and it reminds me of the fact that God’s grace is pure unrecompensed favor.
